Internet conversations – What could go wrong?
The internet stinks for conversations. There really are no conversations, just an exchange of conclusions. This makes the conversation about Jesus inorganic and largely ineffectual. Normally, when I talk to people who don’t believe in Jesus I start with questions. “Why not? What experience do you have? What authorities on the matter do you agree with?” That at least could help me dial in on what part of the five billion people in the world who aren’t Christian they are.
It’s like the world’s biggest dartboard and you don’t even know what you’re aiming for. Any stab at it with an online post is like throwing blindfolded and often times, against all odds, people who try still miss the board altogether and spear someone in the butt.
Why are you here?
So let’s start with this: you’re reading this, which means that someone probably included you in this conversation either because 1) you’ve expressed that your life is unmoving or 2) someone else, out of the goodness of their heart, or as a really helpful sounding insult, told you that you should check this out. Hey, what are friends for?
So we have this in common: maybe we feel stuck, have been stuck, or are trying to help those who are. Or maybe we’re not stuck, but we’re not maximizing our life for impact. I think that most people feel like their lives are going nowhere, or at least not where they wish they were going. We want to live a life that’s worth living. One that’s reaching the potential that we innately believe God has given us.

Let’s talk about it
If you are from a different religion or worldview and have different predispositions about Jesus or Christianity, I’d love hear from you and to share with you about why I think that Jesus is the way for you to live your best possible life. If you’ve been a Christian and have decided against it after some bad experience, I get it. Why believe in something that you’ve experienced as hollow, hypocritical or even hurtful? The answer? Because there’s more to it than you’ve experienced. A LOT MORE.
Let’s be honest enough to admit when we’re unmoving and bold enough to talk about it. Let’s be courageous enough to engage the things that are holding us back from an unstoppable life!
If you’re not a Christ follower, at least understand that there are myriads of people throughout the world and throughout history who have clung to Jesus Christ as the saving truth and have experienced transformation in some, if not many, aspects of their lives. What others have experienced can’t be as easily dismissed as what I personally believe. They have gone from unmoving to unstuck to unstoppable and you can too!

If you’re unbelieving, the reason you’re unmoving may be because your belief system has taken you as far as it can go. As the movement moves on, it will be the believing that lead the way. At least don’t be UNopen to the idea.
